This Gallery of drawings and paintings shows a view of the steps leading up to San Fortunato in Todi, Umbria on a hot sunny day. I wanted the canvas to reflect the crumbling surface of the walls of the buildings.
The view of Genoa was drawn from high above the city in Piazza Portello and the view of Paris was sketched from the Arc de Triomphe. I love using charcoal to sketch quickly.
The creek is next to the harbour in Gosport, England: the best skies always appear after a thunderstorm- usually when it is very cold to be out with a sketchbook!
