About the Artist

placeholder image

I have been Working as a professional Marine Artist since 1997. My career took off after being invited on board RFA ARGUS by Admiral Terry Loughran to be the official artist to 702 Lynx Helicopter Squadron. As a qualified pilot, I was able to fly in the Lynx and capture a unique aerial viewpoint for a painting to grace the squadron's wardroom. This led to many more commissions for the Royal Navy and foreign navies including those of Canada and Holland, culminating in a commission from BAE Systems for the wardroom of HMS AMBUSH.
My love of the sea drew me to paint classic yachts, inspired by the regattas on the Solent where I live and later travelling to the Mediterranean for the Panerai Cup.  Between 2005 and 2007, I followed the 32nd America's Cup series in Valencia, Malmo and Trapani for a solo exhibition. The modern yachts with their cutting edge technology encouraged me to discover new painting techniques using mixed media to create artworks that change in different light.
More recently, my work has expanded to include landscapes and my Alf & Safety series featuring Alfreddo.
My work has been exhibited and sold at the Marine Gallery in Cowes, the Wyllie Gallery in Kensington & Chelsea, the Mall Galleries, the Rheged Gallery, the Ggliardi Gallery, Paul Mason gallery and the Salt Marsh Gllery Lymmington. I have taken part in the Royal Society of Marine Artists exhibition, the Westmorland Landscape Prize, the Chianciano Biennale, the London Biennale and a solo exhibition at the Naval Club, London.
