I always think that paintings should speak for themselves, but the world and internet today wants many words and waffle for you to find me. So, here is a somewhat pointless paragraph explaining what I expect you have already worked out for yourself. There are "galleries" on this site (it is an art site after all) which show images of my art. These works of art are created with oil paint, chalk pastel, charcoal, watercolour and sometimes acrylics using a variety of different techniques from using conventional brushes/ palette knives to airbrushing. I believe that there are no rules, so sometimes I may use my oil paints like watercolours and visa versa.

Just for the record, I often get a little fed up with writing the website instead of painting. However, it is the best way for me to share my work with all of you across the world, so that makes it worth the time. I hope you enjoy it!

Sketchbook Diaries

These diaries are to give you an insight as to how my art is created and the stories behind various paintings. More stories will be introduced over time: watch this space…

Alfreddo

Welcome to the Quarter Gallery, an art gallery that showcases the works of Dawn Lawrence, featuring marine art and landscape paintings, as well as classic yachts. There is even an eccentric little character called Alfreddo.

The gallery regularly updates it’s collections, offering new pieces created with sustainable, eco friendly materials.  The artworks are created with oils, pastels and watercolours.
